From the stern of Dog Star at anchor in Santa Anna Inlet.

We woke up to a call on the VHF radio: "Hey, there's a Humpback swimming around the anchorage!" We sat in the cockpit in our jammies, sipping coffee and watching the whale swim 2 laps around all the boats. What a treat (along with hot cinnamon rolls delivered by Sam).

Santa Anna Inlet was a great place for crabbing... and shrimping.

Spot Prawns (see the little white dots?)

Waterfall hidden behind a stand of cedar.

Salmonberry.

Snug inside Dog Star after taco night with the flotilla. (Spot prawn salsa is on the left, just above the guacamole.)

About Us

The salt water has been part of our lives for over 40 years, and we have owned sailboats for most of those.  We love the PNW and all that it has to offer with the beautiful Salish Sea, access to the Pacific Ocean and the wildlife that inhabit these areas.  We have the opportunity to expand our usual areas of exploration this year, and will depart May 24, 2021 for SE Alaska.
