Coronation Island is south of the tip of Kuiu Island, hanging out in Dixon Entrance and the edge of the Gulf of Alaska. The weather has to be near perfect to visit, as it can be a rough trip. For centuries, the Tlingit would wait in Egg Harbor until the weather was calm enough to paddle out to the Hazy Islands to collect bird eggs.
The whales were with us as we set out from Bay of Pillars.
There were caves to explore.
