Wrangell

Wrangell, a town so lawless at one time that Wyatt Earp refused the job of Marshall in that "Hellhole," though he did the job for 8 days while another could be found. Wrangell has had many fortunes, first as a goldrush town selling supplies for the trip up the Stikine River. Next was logging and sawmills, then fishing.

We had a nice ride through Zimovia Passage.

A museum provided the full history of Wrangell starting with the Indigenous People. Shakes Island is next to the marina and this Longhouse is made from huge cedar planks.

These totems had fallen and a shelter was erected over them.

A short dinghy ride from Wrangell is Petroglyph Beach.

About Us

The salt water has been part of our lives for over 40 years, and we have owned sailboats for most of those.  We love the PNW and all that it has to offer with the beautiful Salish Sea, access to the Pacific Ocean and the wildlife that inhabit these areas.  We have the opportunity to expand our usual areas of exploration this year, and will depart May 24, 2021 for SE Alaska.
